The challenge was accepted

Yesterday I set myself a challenge to get some photographs worthy of being uploaded to the blog using the Canon Ixus v2. Now for those of you who don't know what a Canon Ixus v2 looks like I've taken a picture of mine. It's a small, solidly built piece of kit with a tiny screen on the back and limited controls. Makes for good fun but I can't say I'd relish doing a wedding with it !

So thats the piece of kit that I took with me to work today. I didn't get a lot of opportunities to shoot anything exciting so I finished up taking a picture of the opposite end of the office. The end where my colleague Shirley sits - this is the tiday end, so you can see why I didn't shoot my desk (it already looks like a bomb has hit it anyway !).

I have deliberately avoided mentioning the weather today as I didn't want to turn this blog into a version of the local weather report.

Once we arrived home from work I looked around the house and tried to find something else to add to the blog. Just as I had about given up on it for the day the cat decided to plonk herself down in the draining rack in the kitchen - well that was a photo opportunity not to be missed, even if it does mean another cat picture on the blog. As you can see the flash was a bit harsh but there is no control over it and it is set just to the left of the lens so I'm limited as to what I can do - nasty shadow in the background too ! Oh for a bounce flash, oh damn there's no hot shoe !

Yo Tim - in my pocket everyday is the mighty Fuji Finepix A500 - well you never know !!

Just waiting for a natural (or unnatural) disaster to occur in either Cheadle Hulme or Manchester City Centre...my mate Carl (from Greenfield) was the lucky "snapper" who was in the right place at the right time when Manchester City Centre was bombed back in the late 90s.

(He was a freelance though & had all his kit with him - boo hiss !!)
